Goji Berries - Testimonials

What our customers say Goji Berries

SUPERFRUITS

In the produce world, some fruits have better health credentials than others. So-called superfruits flavored everything from pomegranate-blueberry lemonade to açaí energy bars. This year's breakout was the Himalayan goji berry, said to be a source of energy and longevity. The berry made several appearances, most successfully in Himalania's trail mixes and snacks.

Time Magazine

Presenter: On the subject of health and happiness a tiny berry grown in the remote regions of the Himalayas is being touted as a new natural wonder medicine. It’s said the goji berry can be used for just about everything from aging to fatigue, even cancer. Belinda Burrows has the story.

Belinda: Diane Newkirk has a definite spring in her step, Marion Blake is feeling good and Carol Hird has loads of energy. You wouldn’t guess it, but they all have health problems.

Diane: I had a serious Level four Melanoma some years ago and strong family history of cancer.

Belinda: Marion Blake’s undergoing Chemotherapy.

Marion: I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2001.

Belinda:  And Carol Hird has several complaints.

Carol: which I believe, now, is to do with Mercury poisoning.

Belinda: But all these women feel great. They put there vitality down to the new wonder food; the Goji Berry.

Lyndon Beirnoff: It’s probably the most flexible, versatile food or supplement that I’ve ever seen.

Belinda:  Naturopath, Lyndon Beirnoff, says the goji berry is grown in the remote Himalayan regions and locals there have a history of longevity and low levels of western diseases.

Lyndon: Goji is considered to be the world’s most nutritionally dense food. It’s jam packed full of vitamins and minerals.

Belinda: In fact, the goji berry’s wrap sheet is quite impressive. Highest level of antioxidants of any food; more vitamin C than oranges; more Beta-carotene than carrots; more iron than spinach; 18 amino acids; several B vitamins and 21 trace minerals. And that’s why Dr Helen Broom prescribes it to her patients.

Dr Broom: This is quite outstanding because of its high level of antioxidants and its use in preventing degeneration of our tissues.

Belinda: And Medical research suggests goji berries can help with a myriad of health issues. It apparently has anti-aging, anti-cancer properties. It balances blood sugars; boosts the immune system, helps with weight loss, energy and much, much more.

Dr Broom: I could recommend them for just about anybody.

Belinda: Naturopath, Lyndon Beirnoff agrees saying it’s a preventative and general health booster for well people and a help for those diagnosed with illnesses.

Lyndon: Goji is one thing which helps to keep the immune system raised, helps to give people extra energy and it really compliments whatever form of orthodox treatment that a person is going through; it doesn’t replace it however.

Belinda: Marion Blake says since adding Himalayan Goji™ Juice to her organic diet she feels really good.

Marion: The amazing thing is that last week I had all my blood results in the black where as usually when Chemotherapy is being undertaken there are lots of red results.

Belinda: Diane Newkirk hasn’t had Melanomas or skin problems since starting on Goji juice but husband Scott says there are side effects - good ones.

Scott: You do have more energy. You recover better when you go on a bike ride or something like that; you feel a whole lot better the next day. You sleep better.

Belinda: Meanwhile Carol Hird’s noticed an overall improvement.

Carol: I’m just amazed at the energy I have now; the things I can do.

Belinda: Because theses berries are grown in remote Himalayan regions we here in Australia can’t eat them fresh. But Goji comes in two forms; either as juice or dried. The Himalayan Goji™ Juice contains about a kilogram of berries, and is available on line and costs around $60.

Lyndon: You can have anywhere between 30 to 100mls twice a day.

Belinda: The dried berries are cheaper and available through selected health food stores. 500 grams of Naturally Goji costs about $25.

Dr  Broom: You probably only need about 20 a day.

Belinda: So this little red berry might just hold the key to a healthy life.

Presenter: Sounds great, I want some.
