Lycium Barbarum is the Latin name for Goji Berry which originates in the Himalayas. There are many varieties of goji. In Tibet alone there are possibly 41. They hold an annual two week festival in the berry's honour (Goji means "happy"). The goji is believed to be the densest food known to man.
Scientists have discovered that there is a small group of 'super- foods' that have up to twenty times the anti-oxidant power of other foods. These super-foods provide more anti-oxidant power than mega-doses of vitamin supplements. They found that Goji berries contain 22 polysaccharides
